URL Params for Taxonomy lead to 404 errros, by Pete Hahn

For some reason every time I add a new post to my blog I receive a ton of 404 errors. The errors are all the same pattern. http://www.domain.com/?taxonomy=category&term=my-category

An example of a valid category on my site is: http://www.hahn-tech.com/category/ts/strategies-ts/

When I post a new article to this category I receive a bunch of 404 errors that look like this: http://www.hahn-tech.com/?taxonomy=category&term=tradestation-strategies

This indicates that some source is delivering bad url’s to my audience. I have investigated and discovered is the the emails sent out to subscribers to my blog.

It appears the subscription emails are sending out a url that contains the NAME of the category instead of the SLUG. I always define my categories with a different slug name than it’s description (or name). The slug is supposed to be “url friendly”, which makes it clear there is no need to make the slug match the category name.

I appreciate any sort of assistance or clarification anyone can offer. Thanks.
