Here’s an idea:

Treat volunteer positions as just another job type (part-time, full-time, contract, VOLUNTEER, etc) and consider volunteers as any other employee… and most job posting plugins should do the job.

Another idea is to use a separate plugin specifically made for managing volunteers in your organization (eg Wired Impact Volunteer Management). I’ll go this route if the volunteer positions are short-term, you want to be able to send reminders, people can jun on and off anytime, and you want to track how long and how often they’ve been helping and add notes that will help you stay organized, etc.

Finally, I took a look at the site in your profile… and the VOLUNTEER APPLICATION is just a single form which you can easily re-create in WordPress with any of the many form plugins out there.
