    Change the password for your database (and don’t forget to update wp-config.php). If this is on your own server, make sure mysql is not listening on ports other than 127.0.0.1 and block port 3306 anyway via iptables.

    Are you on 4.9.1?

    Finally, do a serious replacement of *all* PHP files. Make a list of your plugins, then delete them all from the file system and reinstall from the WP.org repository. Do the same with your theme.

    Look through wp-content/uploads and remove all PHP files there.

    FINALLY, check your site’s access logs at the times when the malicious code reappeared and see if you can see what files were being accessed.
