WordPress fix Reply To: hiding install.php and upgrade.php with htaccess

    It looks like the only way to know for sure is to try it. You can always try installing an older version of WordPress on a test server, editing the .htaccess file, and then seeing if you can update.

    Having googled that, though, I find that most of the sites that offer that advice offer a lot of dubious security advice, although most of it was valid ten years ago. I’m not going to worry about this.
