    Removing base64 code, by maeldk

My sites are infected with base64 code. I have a server which hosts multiple wordpress installations and all installations are infected. Each installation has around 120 .php files with base64.

I have found two variations of the code and was thinking to download the files to my local computer and then do a search and replace operation for the code.

But when I do this for one of my installations I get all sorts of errors. Javascript errors, header errors and what not.

The code is within <?php and ?> so I am just replacing the <?php [base64 code] ?> with “empty” so that all the files then start with <?php

Does anyone have any idea why I get the errors once I delete the code and re-upload the files to my server?

I am not familiar with SSH and not sure how to use it, that is why I am trying to fix it with this method.
