New users unable to receive notification email, by infinityown

After I added new users to my website, the users do not automatically get an invitation email, even though the “Send the new user an email about their account.” box is checked.
The user will be able to access the website if I manually send them their generated password.

How do I fix this issue, so users will be able to automatically receive their emails without me sending them an invitation myself?
