live webcams on websites, by GarethNicholas

    Hi all,

I really hope that someone will be able to help me.

I am trying to create a new website that will have a live webcam session once a week. I am wondering how best to do this – whether there will be a plugin that would be suitable?

I was thinking (perhaps naively) that if the webcam is streamed to a url link, that we can have that url behind an image, so when the time comes (say, for example, at 3pm on Tuesday), the website visitor will be able to click on the image, and will open up the webcam view. Will this work? If so, would you recommend a plug in? Any recommendations on the webcam (or spec required)? Am I thinking of this all wrong, and is there a better/cheaper way of doing this? There may be a number of people who will be watching this live video at the same time…

    Any help will be appreciated!
    Thank you.
