Bizarre image upload problem, by heatherkitching

    Hi folks,
I have yet to find a solution to this problem, so I thought I’d try again.

I’m having a problem when I try to upload photos using the “add media” button. I don’t see the image in my media gallery (just a gray square), I don’t see the file anywhere in the uploads directory in FTP, and the page shows a broken link when I try to insert the photo. BUT, if I click on “edit image” in media library, THEN I can see the photo, so it’s there somewhere, and it claims to be in the directory it’s supposed to be in.

This happens in both Chrome and Firefox. I’ve tried clearing my browser cache and cookies. I’ve tried disabling plugings. I’ve tried switching to the classic theme. And my host adjusted some permissions (they didn’t say specifically what). So far, nothing.

Does anyone have any insight into what could be causing this?

    Thanks!
    h
