When you grant an Author rights to a user, you are sure that he can not do any harm to your website, but there is still a small issue with media library (WordPress 4.9.4, actual for 11.02.2018). At that moment he cant delete any other users picture in simple mode, he still able to delete all images in your gallery, using ‘Bulk select’ button.

You can easily test it. Grant yourself Author rights, go to: ‘Media’ -> ‘Library’ ->’Bulk select’ and multiple select all images you want to remove and press ‘delete selection’

This issue can lead to a big problem for site owner. Please fix it.
