Always need to reset password if I don’t log in for a long time, by lbleicher

Whenever I log in after a long time, I always get the message saying my password is wrong, so I reset the password and then login normally. It works for a while, but if I spend enough time without loging in, it always says my password is wrong and I need to reset it – and so I “reset” it exactly to what I had before. Even though I have this problem in a self-hosted page, it seems this problem has been seen with a wordpress.com user as well (see https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/why-do-i-keep-losing-my-password?replies=6 ), and in his case nobody could find out why that happened. Any ideas? Is there some configuration somewhere about expiring passwords I am missing?
