WordPress Speed Up Service | WordPress Website Maintenance Packages First off, here is what Wikipedia says about a CDN: That may sound a little confusing to some so I will try and break it down as best as I can though please feel free to leave your questions in the replies. Let's say that you use GoDaddy to host your website. If somebody visits your website, they are going straight through the same GoDaddy servers. As your website builds in popularity, you are going to be getting more visitors to your website from around the world. This can very easily overload the servers which in turn slows your websites loading time or even cause it to crash completely. Now, a CDN uses MULTIPLE servers to make for a much better user experience. The servers that a CDN uses are placed all over the world and when a visitor wants to view your website, they will be directed through the server that is closest to them which in turn leads to a much quicker loading website. Is this even important for Wordpress? Well, it is as important as it is for any other website. Not only will it lead to faster website speeds for the visitor but will also improve your SEO score as Google loves fast websites. You will also have a much less chance of your website crashing due to the fact that visitors will be coming through various servers instead of the single server used by the host.
