wordpress is good for a beginner as well as professional. If you have a domain and can pay for the hosting, you can easily install wordpress on your site and launch your website. If you play with the available presets, themes, plugins, widgets, you can easily create a professional looking website.

I agree; the genius of WordPress is that you can get your site up and running with little to no knowledge of web design. You really are only limited by your imagination in terms of features. Having tried other CMS like Joomla, WordPress is hands down the most user-friendly. Plus, the fact that it powers like 20% of websites worldwide, there is a ton of support if you get stuck. If you're looking for a theme to get started, I would personally recommend the Betheme by a company called the Muffingroup. The theme comes prepackaged with nearly 200 layouts, so that you can get a good idea of the possibilities for your site.

WordPress is very popular due to various reasons. You can create a free site even with little technical knowledge. WordPress has extensive features to suit your needs- whether you want to use it as a personal blog or a professional website. It is safe and secure. It is search engine friendly and you can easily customize it using the different plugins. Another important reason is that WordPress is mobile friendly.

In my experience it is much easier to get up and start with. It will not show you everything and it will not explain some of the things that it does automatically for you, but it will get you off the ground, which is very helpful when dealing with setting up a site. In that sense it is a good tool to learn from as well, and just take it step by step and learn as you go. There is also a host of information on it available which is always good if you need some support.
